2025 Baker Seed Co. Trial Results
Trial Summary
The 2025 Baker Seed Co. trial program was conducted near Rutherglen, Victoria, across three time-of-sowing windows: early April, late April and mid-May. These trials were designed to evaluate a wide range of cereal varieties under varying seasonal conditions.
Establishment conditions were generally dry, with rainfall playing an important role in crop emergence and development. Total annual rainfall for the site was 458mm.
The trials assessed yield and grain quality across wheat, barley, oats and triticale, including both grazed and ungrazed scenarios in the early sowing window.
Results highlighted strong varietal performance across all sowing times, with high-yielding barley and wheat lines demonstrating consistent production and quality traits. These findings provide valuable insights for growers when selecting varieties to suit different sowing opportunities and seasonal conditions.
