Introducing Ed Harrod
Hi, I’m Ed Harrod. I grew up in Albury, NSW, and developed an early interest in agriculture through my father, Rob Harrod, an agronomist working across North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. His work exposed me to the diversity of farming systems in the region and sparked my passion for the industry.
This interest led me to complete a Bachelor of Agriculture, followed by a Master of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Melbourne. After graduating, I joined Baker Seed Co. Working within a wholly Australian Family owned seed business gave me a level of responsibility, exposure, and job satisfaction far beyond what I expected so early in my career.
After three and a half years with Baker Seed Co, I took time to travel overseas before moving into Banking, where I focused on agri-finance. When the opportunity arose to return to Baker Seed Co in this role, I jumped at it.
I have a strong passion for seed production and for introducing new varieties on farm, backed by practical management and modern technology to drive better farming system outcomes. I value teamwork and enjoy contributing to solutions that deliver meaningful results for growers and the wider business.
